Baby Doll Circle Time: Little Hands, Big Hearts!

At The Academy of Berkshire, learning through play is one of our favorite ways to help our little learners grow! Our friends recently enjoyed a special Baby Doll Circle Time, filled with nurturing moments, sweet smiles, and hands-on learning experiences.

During circle time, our little friends explored caring for their baby dolls by giving gentle hugs, rocking them, pretending to feed them, and putting them to sleep. These simple yet meaningful activities encourage children to develop empathy, kindness, and an understanding of how to care for others.

Baby Circle Time is part of our Frog Street Curriculum and gives our children an exciting opportunity to come together, interact with their teachers and friends, and learn through music, movement, stories, language, and PLAY! For our littlest learners, Baby Circle Time may mean sitting with their teachers while listening to a favorite song, watching a puppet, exploring a colorful book, practicing baby signs, clapping their hands, or bouncing along to the music.

As our babies grow into busy toddlers, Baby Circle Time becomes even more interactive! You may see our toddlers singing along, doing hand motions, identifying pictures, practicing new words, dancing to songs, making animal sounds, or eagerly waiting to see which Frog Street friend is coming out to play.

By Preschool, our friends are ready to jump right in! They are answering questions, participating in conversations, singing familiar songs, following movements, building their vocabulary, and learning how to listen and participate as part of a group. And yes sometimes Baby Circle Time gets a little silly!  There may be dancing, funny sounds, lots of wiggling, and plenty of giggles. That’s exactly what makes learning so much FUN!

What may look like singing, dancing, and playing is actually helping our children build important developmental skills. Through Frog Street Baby Circle Time, our children are strengthening their language and communication, social-emotional skills, listening, memory, motor development, confidence, and relationships with their teachers and friends.

One of the sweetest parts is watching Baby Circle Time change as our children grow. A little one who once sat quietly watching their teacher sing may soon be clapping along, doing the motions, saying the words, and eventually singing the song right along with everyone else.
The best part about Baby Circle Time is that children are learning through PLAY! Every song, movement, smile, and interaction helps build the foundation for future learning. At The Academy of Berkshire, Baby Circle Time is about bringing our little learners together, creating meaningful connections, and making learning FUN!
